WHAT IS FEDEFRUTA: ITS COMMITMENT
Fedefruta F.G., was founded on November 17th, 1985 as a non profit trade union related with public and private organizations. Its goal is to serve the national fruit and vegetable sector in terms of defense, promotion, dissemination, training, studies and certification.
In the search for efficiency, we establish relationships with our customers and suppliers based on trust. We establish strategic alliances supported by the continuous improvement of our processes within an environment of professional development together with the creation and maintenance of a Quality Management System based on the ISO 9001:2000 model. This is projecting our organization towards obtaining more and higher benefits which are seen represented through the sustainable development of the organization.
Fedefruta groups more than 1000 producers and 20 associations along the country which has led to a prestige that allows our organization to be an acive participant of the different policies that are determinant for the sector.

Towards our customers: we are oriented towards Customer Satisfaction by providing timely services and by improving the quality and specificity of such.
Towards our staff: we want to generate an environment for professional development by improving levels of training, trough continued review of the most critical aspects of human relations (incentives).
Towards our shareholders: we want to generate benefits that are highly attractive when promoting the incorporation of new associates.
Towards our suppliers: we maintain long term relationships with our suppliers. We increase alliances with suppliers from the fruit and vegetable sector.
Towards society as a whole: by promoting the importance and benefits coming from the fruit and vegetable sector at national and international level
Strengthening the participation of Fedefruta within public and private organizations.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Fedefruta is highly active in different areas which include:
Lobbying
The Board of Directors of Fedefruta meets regularly with government officials, policy – makers, and with the private sector to be able to actively represent the needs and views of the fruit growers on a wide range of issues which include: trade agreements, labor laws, drafting legislation, agricultural accounting, plant health regulations, new market opportunities, actions to be taken against trade barriers and protectionism policies, and customs exemptions.
International promotion
Fedefruta is actively involved in a wide number of initiatives that are aimed at placing Chilean fruit produce abroad, especially in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. Fedefruta is a good standing member of the Chilean Fresh Fruit Association, both in United States and Europe.
Fedefruta Newsletter
Because we believe that information is a key aspect of every activity, all Fedefruta members receive a 24-page monthly roundup of technical and trade news and issues related to the fruit export business. This official Fedefruta publication is distributed to members between III trough X region.
Price and statistics digest
In addition to the information provided in the newsletter, Fedefruta´s Research Deparments publishes a regular report on prices and market conditions of such leading destinations as the US and Europe. The Research Department also provides members with statistics on FOB returns per variety, net returns per grower, production costs per variety and region, and export volumes.
Grower committees
Growers of specific fruit varieties are organized in committees under Fedefruta. These committees work towards the promotion of their produce both locally and abroad. They regulate quality issues and open up new markets.
Crop forecasting
Together with the Natural Resource Center (Ciren- for its acronym in Spanish), Fedefruta has participated in the development of new technologies and forecast systems for all exportation fruit harvesting
Annual fruit growers convention
Fruit growers meet once a year to review trade, technical, and business issues with colleagues, prominent national and international guests, and government officials. Fedefruta – sponsored Annual Convention provides an important um for fruit growers wishing to express their concerns or their desire to update themselves in terms of fruit marketing and management trends.
International Business Round Table Chilean Fresh Fruit and Vegetables for Export
Fedefruta organizes a yearly international Business Meeting: Chilean Export Fruit and Vegetables, to be able to establish contact between Chilean producers and purchasers from the five continents. It establishes and emphasizes the international demand of direct buyers towards our country.

Research
Fedefruta is an active partner of different fruit research development projects undertaken by universities and other public and private research institutions.
FEDEFRUTA MEMBERSHIP
The Fruit Growers Federation of Chile is made up of individual growers. Members are entitled to the benefits and services described here, and vote to elect their representatives at the annual general meeting.
Also eligible for membership are local grower associations, which sit on the Board of the Federation. Fedefruta currently has 20 associate members:
